Heritage Eagles Face Gatewood

The Vidalia Heritage Academy Eagles baseball team took on the Gators of Gatewood Academy on the road on Tuesday of last week. They had a game scheduled for Thursday, but it was cancelled.

Gatewood took the lead in the bottom of the first inning with a run, and then went ahead 2-0 with another in the third inning.

The Eagles came back in the top of the fifth inning with two runs on a two-run home run by Ledger Curl. That tied the game at 2-2. But in the bottom of the frame the Gators plated two more runs to go back on top, 4-2.

Gatewood held in the sixth and seventh innings to take the win, 4-2. Curl led the Eagles with three hits on the night. This week the Eagles will be at Sherwood Christian on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. and will host David Emanuel on Friday at 5:00 p.m.
