On Wednesday of last week at Montgomery County High School, Jamarion Henderson signed his letter of intent to play football for the Tigers of The University of the South, formerly Sewanee University, in Sewanee, TN.

Henderson stated, “I feel great. This really means a lot to me, more than anything. This just feels different and I am ready for this opportunity. I have to thank my mom, my dad, my coaches and trainers, Coach Vandy especially, and my teammates and everyone that has supported me.

“When I first got up there, I knew it was the place for me. I have a chance to play right away, and it is a good academic school, and I plan to use this as a step toward the future.”

Henderson's dad, Roman Hall, added, “Just very proud of him. He has been grinding since day one. He has a positive attitude, he is a smart kid, and we knew one day the hard work was going to pay off and here we are today. So excited for him to move to the next level, and who knows what could happen in the future.”

MCHS Head Coach Don Vandygriff said, 'When I first got here Jamarion was one of the two seniors, who really stood out. His work ethic over the summer and into the season, just going through the process shows the leadership and the type of young man he is. It has been an honor to coach someone that is as dedicated as he is. He never missed. We are excited for his opportunity and to see him extend his career.”
