VHS Soccer Adds A Win

The Vidalia High School soccer teams took on Appling County and Toombs County last week. The Lady Indians fell to both teams, while the boys picked up a win over the Pirates.

Girls vs. Appling

In the girls game on Tuesday in Baxley the Lady Pirates pulled away early with four goals in the first half of the game. They added one more in the second half as they took the win over VHS, 5- 0.

Boys vs. Appling

VHS got goals from three different players as they took a close win over the Pirates. Vidalia scored the only goal of the first half to hold the lead at halftime.

In the second half the Pirates added two goals, but so did the Indians as VHS won the game 3-2. Clayton Cox, James Collins, and Jude Owen all scored for the Indians.

Girls vs. Toombs

The Lady Bulldogs were too much for VHS as they rolled to a win. Toombs put five goals on the board in the first half of the game, and they held the Lady Indians scoreless. Toombs found the back of the net three more times in the second half to take an 8-0 win over VHS.

Boys vs. Toombs.

The VHS boys kept it a bit closer, but lost to their rivals. At halftime the Bulldogs were on top 2-1 over VHS. But in the second half Toombs added three goals and held VHS to just one. That gave Toombs the win, 5-2.

The two VHS goals came from Cox and Owen.

The Lady Indians are 1-7 on the season while the boys are 3-5. This week VHS played Savannah Arts on Tuesday after presstime. They will play again on Friday at Windsor Forest with the girls at 5:00 p.m. and the boys to follow.
