Toombs Volleyball Plays Well

It was a good night for the Lady Bulldogs volleyball team on Tuesday night of last week in matches versus Pierce County and Windsor Forest.

JV

In the JV match, the Lady Net Dogs beat Pierce County in three sets 25-22, 21-25, and 153. Leading the JV was Alivia Patrick with 12 service points, 8 aces, and 2 kills. Arianna Hill also contributed with 8 service points, 8 aces, and a kill. Estrella Barbosa did her part with 9 service points, 4 aces, and 3 assists, and Makayla Brewton played well with 4 kills. The JV team moves to 6-3 for the year.

Varsity vs. Pierce

In the first match for the varsity, they squared off with and beat Pierce County in three sets. The first set Toombs won 2514, loast the second 1925, and won the third by the score of 15-5 to take the match. Vivianna Rodriguez, Zariaha Newkirk, Anabel Cruz, and Makayla Brewton all had 6 service points in the match. Cruz also added 8 assists, while Newkirk added 3 aces, 10 kills, and a block and Makenzie Kilgore added 3 blocks. vs. Windsor

In the second Varsity match, TCHS beat Windsor Forest in three sets 25-22, 23-25, and 15-13. Toombs was led by Newkirk with 9 service points, 5 aces, 4 digs, and 10 kills. Other contributors in the second match were Scarlett Stanley (8 service points and 3 kills), Martasia Burton (5 assists), Cruz (4 assists), and Anna Patrick, who had the only block of the match. The Bulldogs move to 16-9 overall and 9-4 in Region play.
