Indians Fall To Pierce

The Vidalia High School Indians softball team played just one game last week as they took on the Bears of Pierce County on Thursday in Blackshear.

The Indians put the first run on the board in the top of the second inning to take a 1-0 lead. But in the bottom of the second Pierce answered with four runs to jump ahead, 4-1, on the Indians.

Vidalia added a run in the top of the fourth inning to close it to 4-2. In the top of the sixth inning, the Indians plated two more runs to tie the game at 4-4.

Pierce came back with a run in the bottom of the frame to go ahead 5-4. VHS couldn't get a run across in the top of the seventh inning as they fell, 5-4, to the Bears.

The Indians are now 9-6-1 on the year and are 3-2 in Region play. This week the Indians took on Tattnall County in a Region contest on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action on Thursday for another Region match when they take the trip to Lyons to face rival Toombs County at 6:00 p.m.
