mrandolphadvance@gmail.com

The Toombs County Commission had a short monthly meeting on July 19 to handle two appointments to Toombs County Boards and a lease agreement for equipment for the Solid Waste Facility. Current Board of Family and Children Services member Sandra Williams was reappointed to the Board, extending her term until June 30, 2027. Former Lyons City Councilwoman Sonia Eason was also appointed to a position within the Toombs County Board of Health.

A lease agreement with Yancey CAT was approved for one CAT 826K Compactor, one CAT 326 Excavator, and one CAT D5 Dozer. These pieces of equipment will cost a total of $27,251 per month, which will be paid for using Landfill funds.

The Commission was also made aware of the Generation Farms’ request to be annexed into the city of Lyons. This annexation was approved by the City on July 12, and will become effective on August 9. There were no objections from commissioners.
