Blair Signs With Citadel

Last Thursday at Treutlen County High School multi-sport standout athlete Tim Blair signed a letter of intent for a scholarship to play football for The Citadel Bulldogs in Charleston, South Carolina. Blair is being looked at to play a couple of different positions for The Citadel. He will get reps at wide receiver, running back, and possibly defensive back as well. His options at the school opened up after winning the State Championship in the 100m dash recently. Blair said, “When I went to visit the campus, I knew that this was the right school for me. I was raised by a military family with members in the army. I knew that this was the place for me to play football and continue my dream of being in the US Army.I want to thank God, my family and coaches for making me better everyday.”

Coach Tyree Coney stated, “He was a very true leader for our seniors and underclassmen. He played football, basketball, baseball and track & field. Tim was a State Champion this year in the 100m Dash in Class A. I am extremely proud of him. We are going to miss him. The Bulldogs are getting a great athlete.”

Coach Steve Versprille added, “I don't know how we are going to replace him on our football team. His leadership qualities and talent. He makes everybody around him better. He has been my guy for four years, and he has done a heck of a job for us at every sport he has played. The Citadel is getting a treasure in Tim Blair.”
