Jarriel Named to 2021-22 SSAC Women’s Track & Field Scholar-Athlete Team

Brewton-Parker College Women’s Track and Field student-athlete Rachel Jarriel has been named to the Southern States Athlete Conference Women’s Track and Field Scholar-Athlete Team presented by Barnes & Noble College, conference officials announced on Monday.
Jarriel is listed along with 10 other student-athletes from across the conference who earned the honor. The senior from Collins, Ga. earned the honor with a 3.77 GPA at the time of submission and was also a member of the All-Academic Team earlier this season. In addition to her performances off the track, Jarriel also punched her ticket to NAIA Nationals with a Qualifying “A” Standard in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
To be eligible, studentathletes must be a sophomore or above in both academic and athletic standing, must be starters or important reserves, have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA, and have competed in 50% of competitions. Graduate students are not eligible, and transfers must have completed one semester at the school.
