Beacham Signs With BPC

Last Tuesday Vidalia Heritage Academy's Mason Beacham signed his letter of intent for a scholarship to play baseball for the Brewton-Parker College Barons.

Beacham has been an integral member of the VHA baseball team as they have got the program off the ground over the past few years. He was a freshman during the first year of Heritage's varsity program. He has helped to lead his team to a State Runner-up in his junior year; and in this his senior year, they will be playing for the State Championship this Friday against Praise Academy.

Beacham said, 'I want to thank my parents and coaches for investing in me to get to this point in my life. I have wanted to play college baseball my entire life, and I appreciate all that they have done for me. I chose BPC because they were the first school to offer me a scholarship. It is also close to home and my parents can come and watch me play.'

Marty Beacham, Mason's father added, 'He has worked hard to get here and has believed in himself throughout this whole process. Brewton-Parker is a solid Christian school and we love that part of it and we are very proud of Mason.' Heritage Head Coach Seth Sitzman stated, 'Mason is a great kid and a leader on the team and in the hallways. He is a hard worker and has been a blessing to coach. I am happy for him and his family for this great opportunity. He will fit in well at BPC.'
