Big Turnout At Onion Run
It was a great morning for the Kiwanis Vidalia Onion Run on Saturday morning. A huge group of runners took part in this year’s event, and many were vying to claim the first ever half marathon records. The weather was great, and all that took part enjoyed the new layout and all the hospitality along the route. Many people were out in their front yards to watch and cheer the runners on as they came by, and some were even handing out water along the way. Cole Flanders of Augusta took the top spot in the first ever half marathon. He came in with a time of 1:31:10.56. Second place overall, and the women’s winner, was Amanda Partee-Manders in a time of 1: 37: 46.75. Second for the men was Josh Adams, and Ricky Prosser was third.
