Big Turnout At Onion Run

It was a great morning for the Kiwanis Vidalia Onion Run on Saturday morning. A huge group of runners took part in this year’s event, and many were vying to claim the first ever half marathon records. The weather was great, and all that took part enjoyed the new layout and all the hospitality along the route. Many people were out in their front yards to watch and cheer the runners on as they came by, and some were even handing out water along the way. Cole Flanders of Augusta took the top spot in the first ever half marathon. He came in with a time of 1:31:10.56. Second place overall, and the women’s winner, was Amanda Partee-Manders in a time of 1: 37: 46.75. Second for the men was Josh Adams, and Ricky Prosser was third. time of 19:05.88. Second place was Steve Blachowicz, and third place was Brandon Williams. For the women, first place went to Macey Higgason of Long County in a time of 21:54.44. Second place was Vicki Forrest and third place was Julia McKenzie.

The winner of the One-Mile Fun Run was Liam Tipps of Vidalia.


Amanda Partee-Manders took the top spot for the women in the Half Marathon and finished 2nd overall.

Blue Angels crew member José Pulgarin was the winner in the 5k.

Macey Haggason of Long County was the first female to cross the line in the 5k race.

Vidalia’s Liam Tipps took the win the 1-mile Fun Run.
