Wheeler County Students Attend GA-12 Youth Leadership Summit

On Wednesday, April 13, ten Wheeler County High School students attended the GA-12 Youth Leadership Summit at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro. This event was hosted by Congressman Rick Allen, who currently represents the 12th district in the U.S. House of Representatives, and students had opportunities to interact with students from schools all over the district.

Four dynamic speakers from diverse backgrounds in business, sports, charity work, and the military discussed their life experiences and the development of and importance of leadership skills in their lives. They discussed characteristics of effective leaders and shared many suggestions for ways that students can lead now and in the future.

Congressman Allen also shared ideas about leadership and encouraged students to embrace opportunities to lead positively and effectively in their communities.
