Lady Eagles Over Dublin
The Montgomery County High School Eagles soccer teams wrapped up their regular season last week as the girls faced off with Dublin and Treutlen, while the boys played against Bryan County.
Girls vs. Dublin
On Monday of last week, the Lady Eagles took on the Lady Irish and picked up a Region win. The game went to overtime before it was decided. Both teams scored a goal in the first half of the game. In the second half neither team could find the back of the net as the game ended in a tie. That sent it to overtime. In that five-minute overtime period the Lady Eagles picked up a goal as they took the win, 2-1 over Dublin.
Girls vs. Treutlen
The girls fell in a battle to Treutlen on Thursday in Mt. Vernon. The Lady Vikings scored the game’s only goal, picking it up in the second half of the game. That gave them the win, 1-0, and with that win, the Lady Vikings won the Region Championship.
Boys vs. Bryan
The Eagles had a tough time against Bryan County. The Redskins scored two goals in the first half of the game and then added two more in the second half. That gave them a 4-0 win over MCHS.
