Eagles Soccer Gets 3 Wins

The Montgomery County High School soccer teams took on Wheeler County in Alamo on Tuesday of last week and then were at Dooly County in Vienna on Thursday. The Lady Eagles won both of their games while the boys split their contests.

Girls vs. Wheeler

The Lady Eagles took care of business against the Lady Bulldogs of Wheeler County. MCHS picked up two goals in the first half and then added three more in the second half of the game. The defense allowed Wheeler to score just one goal in the second half of the game. MCHS won the game by the score of 5-1.

Boys vs. Wheeler

In the boys game MCHS had a similar outcome as they took the win over Wheeler. MCHS won the game over the Bulldogs 4-1.

Girls vs. Dooly

The Lady Eagles won their third game of the year as they defeated the Lady Bobcats of Dooly in overtime on the road on Thursday. Each team scored a goal in the second half of the contest to send the game to overtime tied at 1-1. The game made it through the first overtime period without a goal being scored, but in the second overtime the Lady Eagles found the back of the net to take the win, 2-1, over Dooly.

Boys vs. Dooly

The Bobcats overpowered MCHS. In the first half Dooly scored six goals to hold the big lead at halftime. In the second half Dolly added five more goals, while the Eagles scored just one. That gave Dolly an 11-1 win over MCHS. This week the Eagles were at Hawkinsville on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action on Thursday at home against McIntosh County Academy at 5:00 p.m., and then on Friday they will travel to Groves at 5:00 p.m.
