TCHS Soccer Gets Region Wins

The Toombs County High School soccer teams started their week with a sweep of Bacon County, before splitting with Woodville-Tompkins on Friday in Savannah. Toombs' Anyadi Colmenares is off to a great start to her season. For Spring soccer, which is played across 22 states, she currently ranks #2 in the Nation for goals scored with 22, and ranks #6 nationally for total points which includes goals and assists with 46 points.

Girls vs. Bacon

In the game against Bacon County on Tuesday at home Colmenares set a school record for most goals in a single game with nine. TCHS got one more goal from Gisselle Delgado as they took a 10-3 win over the Red Raiders.

Boys vs. Bacon

In the boys game Toombs also came away with the win. They won the game 3-0 over Bacon County. Jose Leon led the way with two goals and Gustavo Delgado added a goal in the game.

Girls vs. Woodville

Against the Lady Wolverines, Toombs scored two goals in the first half and added six more in the second half on the way to an 8-0 win. Colmenares added another five goals to her total. Autumn Jarriel picked up two goals and Delgado added one with Josseline Zamorano picking up three assists in the game.

Boys vs. Woodville

In the boys game against the Wolverines, Toombs fell behind and could not overcome. They fell in the contest 2-1 to Woodville-Tompkins. The Lady Bulldogs are now 5-1-1 on the year and are 2-0 in Region play, while the boys are 2-3-2 and are 1-1 in the Region.

This week TCHS was at East Laurens on Tuesday after presstime and they will be back on the pitch on Friday as they take the short trip to Vidalia for a pair of games. The girls will kick things off at 5:00 p.m. with the boys to follow.
