Mr. Apa Quintero, Sr.

Mr. “Apa” Ramon Limas Quintero, Sr., age 85, of Lyons, died on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at his home following an extended illness.

Mr. Quintero was a native of Pharr, TX, and lived in several places before moving to Lyons in 1984. He was a crew leader for Stanley Farms for many years and was a member of Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan del Valle in San Juan, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Del Roasario Alverez Quintero; 2 sons, Ramon Quintero, Jr., and Doroteo Quintero; his parents, Antonio Quintero and Guadalupe Limas Quintero; and 9 siblings, Isabel, Jesus, Antonio, Manuel, Nena, Pancho, Felipa, Thamasa, and Adela Quintero. His family includes 10 children, Jesus Quintero, Sr., and wife Janie, Francisco Quintero, Cervando Quintero and wife Lydia, Eloy Quintero and wife Elvira, Beto Quintero, Rosie Carter and husband Pete, Efrian Quintero and wife Mary, Selestino Quintero and wife Elvira, Prisila Reyes and husband Henry, and Emilio Quintero; 4 siblings, Santiago Quintero, Felix Quintero, Ester Quintero, and Chita Quintero; 69 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, greatgreat- grandchildren, greatgreat- great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial followed in Lyons City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joaquin Quintero, Francisco Quintero, Jesus Quintero, Oscar Quintero, William Hester, Raymond Hester, Eric Hester, and Henry Reyes III.
