day. RTCA was on top early in this game, 18-10. A shot in the paint from Tyler Buggs made it 2010, and MK McBride made it 24-13 at the end of the first as he got a late shot to fall. With 3:10 to play in the half RTCA was on top 29-17 after McBride and Buggs both hit baskets. RTCA continued to keep up their pressure and by the end of the first half they were on top 34-23.

RTCA continued to increase their lead and with just over three minutes to play in the game the Crusaders were on top 62-47. McBride made it 64-50 with a drive into the lane. Memorial did close it to 65-56 late in the game, but RTCA held on to win by that score. RTCA Head Coach Adam Callaway said, “We have to get better. We were in control of that game, but to only win by nine points…we just lacked concentration down the stretch. We work hard in practice, but we play to our opponent, and that can’t be us if we are trying to go win a State Championship. We have work to do, but we are going to get back to it and make the corrections.”

RTCA was led by Mc-Bride with 30 points, Buggs added 15, and Drew Vaughn scored 14 in the win. The Lady Crusaders are now 4-10 on the season and are 1-0 in Region play, while the boys are 11-1 on the season and are 2-0 in the Region.

This week the girls faced St. Andrews School on Monday, and then the girls hosted Covenant Christian on Tuesday after presstime. Twiggs Academy will be at RTCA on Friday with the girls game kicking off at 6:00 p.m. Then the girls will host Memorial Day on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
