Toombs Splits With Jefferson

The Toombs County High School basketball teams took on Jefferson County last Tuesday in Louisville. The Bulldogs split with the Warriors, with the girls winning and the boys dropping their contest.

Girls

In the girls game the Lady Bulldogs came out on top. They grabbed the lead and went on to win the low scoring game, 39-29, over the LadyWarriors.

Boys

In the boys contest the Bulldogs fell behind early and were down 1911 at the end of the first period. Toombs bounced back in the second to pull the Warrior lead to 35-31 at halftime.

In the third period Jefferson pulled away as they outscored Toombs 15-8. That gave them a 50-39 lead heading to the fourth. In that final period both teams scored 19 points as Jefferson took the win 69-58.

Toombs was led by Julian Mann with 25 points.

This week Toombs hosted Southeast Bulloch on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action on Friday at Bacon County with the girls at 6:00 p.m. and the boys to follow. On Saturday Toombs will host Appling County with tip off at 6:00 p.m.
