Community Observes Veterans Day

In the past few days, the Lyons Lions Club, with assistance from students at Robert Toombs Christian Academy, placed American Flags and crosses bearing the names of veterans along the roadways. Each year, through this event, the Lions promote awareness and appreciation of local veterans on Veterans Day, November 11.

The City of Vidalia is honoring local veterans at a drive-in event at the Vidalia Community Center on Thursday. Participants will drive through the venue to pick up a meal and enjoy it in their vehicles as entertainment is staged outside the Center. Meal pick up begins at 11 a.m. and entertainment follows at 11:30 a.m.


RTCA ONE ACT PLAY PLACES FIRST — Robert Toombs Christian Academy’s High School One Act Play placed first in the GISA 2AA Region competition on Monday, November 1, at Southeastern Technical College. The cast performed “Check Please” by Jonathan Rand. Students Madison Cravey and Trent Smith won the All-Star Award. The director, Austin Morris, won the Director of the Year Award.
