VHS Cross Country Runs Well

The Vidalia High School cross country teams traveled to Toombs County High School Thursday for the Bulldog Invitational. Vidalia’s young athletes competed well despite very wet and muddy conditions, bringing home 11 personal best times.

Girls

In the girl’s division, the Lady Indians finished in second place behind Greenbrier. Sarah Owen had an excellent race, placing 3rd with a time of 22:03. Freshman Georgia Meredith is turning heads and putting up personal best times every week, placing 6th with a time of 22:37. Kaitlyn Allen placed 8th with a time of 22:44, and Allie Whitaker placed 19th running a 24:22. Another freshman, Aleaha Ajoda, also had a personal best time and has run well in her first year of cross country with a time of 25:32.

Boys

In the boys’ division, the Indians placed third behind Jeff Davis and Greenbrier. Luke Palmer, once again, led the tribe and placed 3rd with a time of 18:31. Daniel Hodges put in a personal best, going under 19 minutes for the first time with a time of 18:50, placing 7th. Seth MacGregor had another personal best time of 19:33, placing 13th. Vidalia’s freshmen also had personal best finishes, with Jude Owen finishing 15th-19:41, and Chamlee Evans coming in 18th with a 20:02.
