County Jailer Behind Bars

Jailer Jaquan Collier ended up behind bars following an investigation by the Toombs County Sheriff’s Office at the Charles Durst Detention Center earlier this month. Concerns were made known regarding Collier which later led to his arrest, said Sheriff Alvie “Junior” Kight. this open investigation with charges pending at this time, Sheriff Kight noted.

Collier, age 21, of 706 Loop Road, Apartment 606 Vidalia, was arrested and booked at the Detention Center on August 5. Collier is being held without bond at the Tattnall County Jail.

He has been charged with the following: violation of oath of office; possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute; possession of marijuana with intent to distribute; crossing of guard line with a weapon without consent; use of communication facilities to violate provision prohibited; possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime; crossing of guard line with drugs without consent.

“I commend my jail staff for their quick response to this situation, “ Sheriff Kight said.
