The 2021 Vidalia High School Indian Tennis Camp came to a close last Thursday afternoon. This year's participation was great with 34 local campers ranging in age from 7 to 14. The four day camp was hosted by the VHS tennis team, who also provided instruction and games that focused on the fundamentals of playing tennis.

The high school players who volunteered their week were Danny Richardson, Jameson Rolen, Sukumar Paidi, Kailyn Walker, and Jude Owens. Teachers and coaches, Kristen Champion and Candice Nelson, also volunteered their services for the camp. In addition, Josie Rodriguez, a local young tennis talent who plays USTA junior tennis, volunteered her week as well.

VHS Coach Wade McLeod said, “Next year, we will consider offering two camps, one for 8 to 10 year olds and a separate camp for 11 to 14 year olds. We are already making plans on how we can make the tennis camp experience even better for next year.”
