Metter Over Eagles In 2nd Round

The Eagles baseball team of Montgomery County High School fell in the second round of the GHSA State A Playoffs last week to the Tigers of Metter. MCHS fell in two games.

Game 1

The Tigers then added four more runs in the fifth inning to extend their lead to 6-0. Metter held in the final two inning to take the win by that score.

Game 2

In the second game of the best-of-three series the Tigers scored two runs in the top of the first inning to take the early lead. They added five runs in the third inning and two more in the fourth to push that lead to 9-0 over the Eagles.

In the top of the fifth inning the Tigers exploded for 11 runs as they jumped out to a 20-0 lead over MCHS. The Eagles could not score in the bottom of the inning and that gave the Tigers the 20-0 win in five innings.
