CONTEXT

A compilation of quotations on a variety of issues by national, state and regional writers, well-known personalities, just plain everyday people and from various publications collected by the editors of THE ADVANCE.

Quotes for our Times:

Leah Barkoukis, online features editor at Townhall.com: GAO launches probe into Biden's freeze on border wall funding.

Despite Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas insisting the border is “secure,” Border Patrol cannot keep up with the influx of migrants. More than 11,000 unaccompanied minors were detained in just the first few weeks of March, the Dallas Convention Center is about to be turned into temporary housing for illegal immigrant teenagers, there are reportedly “inhumane conditions” at overcrowded detention facilities, and the agency is releasing asylum seekers without even scheduling a court date. It’s no wonder a majority of voters now want the border wall finished.

Anony Mee, retired public servant: Pity poor Joe? No.

We’ve just witnessed a notably cringeworthy week from Biden and his administration – signing the $1.9 trillion boondoggle bill, then being sued by the State of Ohio; talking smack about Russian President Putin, who then pulled his ambassador back home; being baited by Putin and made to look like a fool when he refused to have a conversation with him; declaring in the face of all opposing evidence that there is no crisis at our southern border; and being threatened by North Korea on Monday only by Thursday to announce that we would be ready to fight them that evening. I hesitate to call it a catastrophe, as most likely the worst is not yet upon us.

Steve McCann, journalist for American Thinker: The democrat party has declared war on America.

The time has come for Americans of all races to snap out of their complacency and stop being played for fools and understand that the American left and the Democrat party have but one goal: to assume in perpetuity the reins of power and transform the nation into a one-party hybrid socialist state. They do not care if someone is African American, Hispanic, Asian, or White as long as they can manipulate these groups by pitting one against the other. They are ruthless in their tactics and determined to prevail. This is a war the American people must win.

Matt Vespa, Senior Editor at Townhall. com: The two words that best describe the Biden administration…and it's not good.

The two words that can describe this administration: limousine liberal. It’s reeks of it. Scores of former Obama officials are back into the fold and richer than ever as well. …

Say what you will about Trump, he cut taxes, regulations, and led to millions of jobs being created. Bonuses were handed out to workers. Small business and consumer confidence were also sky-high. Biden’s buy American executive order…is a Trump priority. If Biden truly wants to differentiate himself from Trump, he will call for the reopening of America. He won’t do it, but that’s the best relief package he can give to American workers.
