Owens Scores 8 Goals

The Indians soccer teams of Vidalia High School had a pair of matches against East Laurens and Southeast Bulloch on Tuesday and Friday of last week, and the boys played Jeff Davis on Thursday.

Girls vs. E. Laurens

The Lady Indians fell in their game to the Lady Falcons. Laurens put three goals on the board while VHS struggled to get the offense going and failed to score, losing the game 3-0.

Boys vs. E. Laurens

In the boys game Konner Owens had another big game for VHS as he scored five times. Owens had his five goals, and Brady Edwards and Clayton Cox each added one as VHS won the game 7-0 over the Falcons.

Boys vs. Jeff Davis

In the game with the Yellow Jackets on Thursday VHS fell by just one goal. JD put three goals on the board while the Indians managed just two, both scored by Owens. VHS lost the game 3-2.

Girls vs. SEB

The Lady Indians fell to SEB on Friday. SEB picked up one goal in the first half of the game and then added two more in the second half as they took a 3-0 win over VHS.

Boys vs. SEB

In the boys game the Yellow Jackets of SEB held a 2-1 lead at the end of the first half, but in the second half they pulled away. Bulloch scored four more times in the second half to win the game 5-2 over the Indians. Owens and Timothy Corbin each scored a goal for Vidalia. The Lady Indians are 4-4 on the year and are 3-2 in the Region 2AA, while the boys are 3-6 and 2-4 in the Region. This week VHS was at Swainsboro on Tuesday after presstime and will be back on the pitch on Friday at Woodville- Tompkins with games starting at 5:00 p.m.
