Eagles Sweep McIntosh

The Eagles soccer teams of Montgomery County High School played several games last week with the girls playing three and the boys two. MCHS started the week with a sweep of McIntosh County Academy on Monday, but then both teams fell to Dublin on Tuesday and the girls dropped a game to Treutlen on Friday.

vs. McIntosh

The Lady Eagles ran away with their game over the Lady Buccaneers. MCHS found the back of the net three times in the first half of the game as they took a 3-1 lead into halftime.

They added four more goals in the second half on their way to a 7-3 win.

For the boys it was a bit closer as they put one on the board in the first half and one more in the second. MCHS held McIntosh scoreless and came out with the 2-0 win.

vs. Dublin

The Lady Irish of Dublin took the early lead on MCHS. They scored three goals in the first half and then added one more in the second to take a 4-0 win over the Lady Eagles. For the boys MCHS was kept off the board, while Dublin scored their only two goals in the first half of the game. Dublin took the 2-0 Region win.

vs. Treutlen

The Lady Eagles took on Treutlen on Friday in Mt. Vernon in an exciting game that had to be decided by a shootout. Both teams managed one goal in each half for a 2-2 tie at the end of regulation. In the shootout Treutlen won over MCHS 3-0 to take the match win.

This week the Eagles faced off with Bryan County on Tuesday after presstime. Up next will be McIntosh County Academy on Thursday of this week at home with the girls kicking off at 5:00 p.m. Then on Friday MCHS will host the Bobcats of Dooly County starting at 5:00 p.m.
