Vidalia Celebrates Georgia Cities Week

The City of Vidalia is joining municipalities across the state in celebrating Georgia Cities Week October 4-10. The observance is sponsored by the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) to showcase cities and the many services they provide.

The theme of this year’s Georgia Cities Week is “Building the 2020 Vision.”

Locally, the week will be observed with a variety of virtual events. Activities include ride-alongs, tours, meet the department events, a pickleball demonstration, a Vidalia Onion Museum tour, “Meet Your Councilman” interviews on Vidalia Communications, a trivia contest, DVA’s Spin to Win giveaway and more.

The events will take place virtually on the City’s Facebook page: City of Vidalia, Georgia Authorized Page and on the Facebook pages of various city departments.

“We’re very proud of our city and the services we provide that make it attractive to residents and visitors,” said Vidalia Mayor Pro-Tem, Raymond Turner. “Cities provide the services and infrastructure to help businesses grow and set the stage for events where families and individuals can gather as a community.”

Based in Atlanta, GMA is a voluntary, nonprofit organization that provides legislative advocacy, educational, employee benefit and consulting services to its 538 member cities.
