NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING In accordance with Section 12-8-24(d) of the Georgia Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Act, as amended, the Telfair County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing regarding the issuance of a modification to the existing Solid Waste Handling Permit for the Telfair County CR 144 Municipal Solid Waste Landfill Landfill, Georgia Department of Natural Resources Environmental Protection Division Permit No. 134-015D(MSWL). The proposed permit modification is for a lateral expansion on adjoining property of the current landfill boundary to allow for additional waste disposal capacity. The Telfair County CR 144 Municipal Solid Waste Landfill is located at 98 Landfill Lane, McRae-Helena, Georgia. The public hearing will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 4:30 o’clock PM in the Community Development Center Building Conference Room located at 91 Telfair Avenue, McRae-Helena, GA 31055. Additionally, during this public hearing the public will also be informed of an opportunity to engage in a facility issues negotiation process in accordance with provisions of Section 12-8-32(c) of the Georgia Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Act.
