RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS BY GARY TOOLE With so much random acts of violence it’s good to know that God is real and there’s random acts of kindness because of His love that’s in some good Christian folk and praise God that kindness will prevail. Amen! Iwasreminded that several years ago some folks broke down near our home and my wife the good Samaritan that she is helped them and even offered to carry them home all the way down to Waycross. Well, a few days later here come a package and it’s a box of candy from these folks andanicecard. Theywrotea note in the card that read, “Thank you so much for your kindness, help and hospitality the day we broke down. We won’t forget your thoughtfulness and kindness.” And in the card was part of a poem written by my favorite spiritual poet, Helen Steiner Rice. It read, “It’s not the things that can be bought that are life’s richest treasure. It’s just the little heart gifts that money cannot measure.” Powerful! Andoh, how we all need that in this day and time when folks are rushing about like mad men collecting up stuff that they will leave behind. It is so refreshing to hear stories like this and for me so gratifying to write about them, especially when it’s about my wife that has a heart the size of Alaska. Theserandomactsof kindness don’t go unnoticed by Godeither. He’skeepingarecord. How’s your record stacking up in Heaven? Not only was my wife being very thoughtful and considerate of others but so were these folks that took the time to send the candy and the card. Needlesstosay,“Yes,I ate the candy!” An honest confession is good for the soul! 1st John1:9.Amen! Weusetosay that some folks are bad to the bone. Well, I can say that my darling wife is good to the bone and I will shout amen to that! Thanks darling! PD. ADV.
