NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED ACTION WHICH WILL RESULT IN ZONING DECISION The Governing Authority of the City of Lyons will hold a public hearing on the 29th day of September 2025, at 6:00 P.M. The public hearing will be held in the council chambers at City Hall, at 161 NE Broad Street, Lyons, Georgia. The purpose of the public hearing is to consider amendments to the text of the City’s zoning ordinance. Any person with special needs relating to handicapped accessibility or foreign language should contact City Hall at (912) 526-3626 before the date above. This notice is given pursuant to OCGA § 36-66-4, which requires that at least 15 but not more than 45 days prior to the date of the public hearing set forth above, the local government shall cause to be published within a newspaper of general circulation within the territorial boundaries of the local government a notice of such hearing. SUPPORTIVE FAMILY – Retired Lyons Fire Chief Darel Corley’s family attended the Lyons City Council meeting on Tuesday, April 7, to support Corley as he was recognized for his service.
NEW K-9 UNIT – Thanks to donations from the community, the Wheeler County Sheriff’s Office now has a new K-9 Unit to help patrol the area, as K-9 Deputy Blue and Corporal Mark Murray recently graduated from the Narcotic Detection and Tracking certification program.
