The Capital Fund Action Plan will be available for review over the next 45 days at the Authority's central office located at 208 North Lanier Street in Lyons, Georgia. The Public Hearing will be held at the Housing Authority's Resident Services Building located behind the central office at 165 E. Wesley Avenue. Any person wishing to comment on the above document may file his or her comments in writing with the Executive Director of the Housing Authority at the above address by 4:30 PM on October 1, 2025, or attend the Public Hearing. All comments will be considered in preparing the final document before submittal to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. SUPPORTIVE FAMILY – Retired Lyons Fire Chief Darel Corley’s family attended the Lyons City Council meeting on Tuesday, April 7, to support Corley as he was recognized for his service.
NEW K-9 UNIT – Thanks to donations from the community, the Wheeler County Sheriff’s Office now has a new K-9 Unit to help patrol the area, as K-9 Deputy Blue and Corporal Mark Murray recently graduated from the Narcotic Detection and Tracking certification program.
