New Stop on Old Normantown Road

Drivers along Old Normantown Road are encouraged to be cautious in the coming weeks, as a new two-way stop is implemented at the road’s intersection with the new U.S. Highway 1 Bypass.

Sheriff’s Office has announced that drivers traveling along Old Normantown Road near Victory Circle in Lyons will be required to stop before crossing the U.S. Highway 1 Bypass. Drivers along the bypass will not have to stop before entering the intersection.

This change to the flow of traffic will be implemented as Old Normantown Road is reopened on Friday, July 11. Yield, stop, and other warning signage have been placed in the area to alert drivers of the change.

Drivers are encouraged to exercise caution when traveling in the region, as the change may cause confusion until travelers are accustomed to the new flow of traffic.
