Treutlen Schools Introduce Anonymous Reporting System

Beginning this school year, Treutlen County Schools is offering parents and students the ability to anonymously report safety concerns, threats, bullying, or a student who may need extra support.

According to Superintendent Susan Stone, this new reporting system comes as a result of House Bill 268, requires all Georgia public schools to implement an anonymous school safety reporting system. This system provides students, staff, parents, and community members with a safe, confidential way to report potential safety concerns before they become emergencies.

24 hours a day, 7 days a week, through multiple platforms, including a mobile app, website, and text messaging. Reports involving immediate or credible threats are reviewed by trained, multilingual crisis counselors who can quickly notify designated school personnel and local law enforcement when necessary.

At Treutlen County Schools, parents and students can report concerns, such as bullying, cyberbullying, threats of violence, weapons on campus, mental health concerns, and concerns involving selfharm or suicide, online on the school’s website, under the “Support and Services” tab on the Parent/Student Resources page. These reports will be reviewed by the appropriate staff members, who will then work to address the concerns.

“This requirement reflects our commitment to maintaining a safe learning environment for every student and staff member. By providing a trusted and confidential way to report concerns, we can identify potential issues earlier, respond more effectively, and continue to foster a culture where safety is everyone's responsibility,” Stone emphasized.
