VST Swims At State Meet

The Vidalia Recreation Department Swim Team(VST) had a great showing at the GRPA B State Swim Meet in Moutrie on July 10 and 11. Fourteen swimmers competed in the meet with numerous swimmers making it to the finals and bringing home awards.

In the 6-8 age division, Chandler Tapley placed 3rd in the 25 yard breaststroke with a time of 27.97 and 7th in the 25 yard butterfly with a time of 32.48. Brody White finished in 7th place in the 25 yard freestyle with a time of 21.77.

In the 9-10 age division, the 10 & Under Boys Relay Team of James Ray, Brentley Sexton, Chandler Tapley, and Brody White placed 6th in the 100 yard medley relay with a time of 1:57.18 and 7th in the 100 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:42.75.

In the 11-12 age division, Easton Moore placed 2nd in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 1:06.57, 4th in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 30.19, and 6th in the 100 yard individual medley with a time of 1:26.64. Jacob Tomlin finished in 8th Place in the 50 yard breaststroke with a time of 50.02. Mason Zorn placed 5th in the 50 yard backstroke with a time of 39.61 and 7th in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 1:16.27.

In the 13-14 age division, Virginia Meredith placed 7th in the 50 yard backstoke with a time of 41.77. Jillian Tomlin placed 8th in the 50 yard butterfly with a time of 51.72. Aubree Zorn placed 6th in the 50 yard butterfly with a time of 36.04 and 7th in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 30.21. The 14 & under mixed relay team of Virginia Meredith, Easton Moore, Aubree Zorn, and Mason Zorn earned 4th place in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 2:40.96 as well as 5th place in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 2:09.96.

In the 15-18 age division, Autumn Moore finished 3rd in the 50 yard butterfly with a time of 30.03, 4th in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 27.40, and 5th in the 50 yard backstroke with a time of 32.09. Jackson Tomlin place 8th in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 1:02.15 and 8th in the 50 yard backstroke with a time of 35.53.

The team was led this year by head coach Conley Brown and assistant coach Autumn Moore.
