The Vidalia Planning & Zoning Board will hear comments, questions, and concerns from citizens about the newly proposed Neighborhood Overlay Ordinance at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, at the Council Chambers at the John Raymond Turner Municipal Annex, located at 308 First Street East. Toombs County Family Connection will host the annual Toombs County Back to School Bash from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, at Southeastern Technical College in Vidalia. Upon arrival, students will check in at the entry point, where they will receive a book bag, school supplies, and a raffle ticket number. Several community organizations and agencies will be set up at the event to mingle with parents and students, and to inform them of local resources. For more information, call (912) 245-2542.
