BURN BAN

The Georgia Forestry Commission has issued a statewide burn ban for 91 counties, including Montgomery, Toombs, Treutlen, and Wheeler Counties. Outdoor burning in any form is not permitted. Avoid anything that causes sparks, such as mowing lawns after 10 a.m. or dragging chains with vehicles.

Violators of the ban are subject to fines.

To report someone burning, call your local fire department.
