The Toombs County High School Bulldogs soccer teams defended their home turf in a big way last week, sweeping both their Tuesday rivalry matchup against Vidalia and a Thursday contest against the Swainsboro Tigers. It was a vital stretch of the schedule, and both the boys and girls squads delivered complete performances to keep their momentum rolling as the regular season draws to a close.

Girls vs. Vidalia

The week started with a highly anticipated home test against the Vidalia Indians. Rivalry games always carry a bit more weight, but the Lady Bulldogs handled the pressure with a steady offensive attack to secure a 3-1 victory. Emerson Powell paced the team with a pair of goals, while Kanijah Toby added another to keep the Lady Indians at bay.

Boys vs. Vidalia

The boys' matchup against Vidalia proved to be a tighter contest, requiring a true group effort to edge out a 4-3 win. Instead of leaning on a single standout, Toombs utilized a balanced attack, getting crucial goals from four different players to secure the rivalry win. Juan Luna, Osvaldo Tinoco, Daniel Santoyo, and Palmer Davis all found the back of the net to help TCHS pull out the hardfought victory.

Girls vs. Swainsboro

Thursday brought the Swainsboro Tigers to town, and the Bulldogs maintained their winning ways to complete the weekly sweep. The Lady Bulldogs established a 1-0 lead by halftime and con- continued from page

Powell and Toby stayed hot, each scoring a goal for the second consecutive game, while Deanna Gonzalez added one of her own to round out the scoring.

Boys vs. Swainsboro

The boys' game against the Tigers was a higherscoring affair, ending in a solid 5-3 Toombs victory. Just like Tuesday, depth was the deciding factor for the Bulldogs. Five different players scored in the win, showcasing a versatile offense that Swainsboro struggled to contain. Luna and Osvaldo Tinoco both got on the board for the second time last week, and they were joined by Jeffery Perez, Jayko Gonzalez, and Aaron Tinoco to seal the win.

The successful home stand provided a foundation as the Bulldogs looked to finish out their schedule. Toombs County wrapped up the regular season this Tuesday against the Jeff Davis Yellow Jackets. Results from that matchup were unavailable at presstime.
