Wheeler Squashes Teacher Arrest Rumor

Last week, Wheeler County Schools and Wheeler County Sheriff Glenn Giles squashed a rumor of a Wheeler County teacher being arrested for having an inappropriate relationship with a student.

The rumor began last week, as a Facebook post stating that a teacher in Wheeler County had been arrested for having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a student and being “walked out of the school in handcuffs” went viral.

On Thursday, March 26, Wheeler County Schools addressed the issue directly with parents and the community, as they stated that the district had conducted a thorough investigation and found no evidence of truth in the allegation. Sheriff Glenn Giles also reassured that there had been no arrest of a teacher by law enforcement.
