vs. Telfair

The bats cooled off slightly on Tuesday as the team traveled to McRae to take on Telfair, but the pitching was ready to carry the load. Jack Walker took the mound and delivered a masterful complete-game shutout in a tense 1-0 victory.

Walker racked up eight strikeouts to keep the Trojan hitters off balance all afternoon. The game's lone run came in the top of the third inning. Dickens grounded out with runners on base, doing his job to bring in the go-ahead run. The Vikings' defense locked down the rest of the way behind Walker to seal the win. vs. Telfair

Returning home on Friday for the series wrapup against Telfair, the Vikings got another commanding performance on the bump. Bailey took the mound and sat down 11 batters on strikes en route to a 6-2 victory.

Treutlen struck first in the bottom of the third with a two-run double off the bat of the red-hot Dickens. The Vikings added a run in the fourth to make it 3-0.

Telfair managed to get on the board with a run in the top of the fifth, but Treutlen quickly answered in the bottom half of the frame for a 4-1 lead.

After the Trojans pushed another run across in the sixth, the Vikings plated two more in the bottom half to put the game out of reach. They held steady in the seventh to close it out.

Looking ahead, Treutlen is slated for two games against Jenkins of Savannah this week. The series opener was played on Monday after presstime. The Vikings will travel to Savannah on Friday for a noon first pitch to wrap up the week.
