Lady Vikings Fall; Boys Advance

The Treutlen County High School Vikings basketball teams saw mixed results in the Region Tournament last week, with the boys squad fighting to keep their season alive while the Lady Vikings saw their 2025-2026 campaign come to a close.

Girls vs. Dooly Co.

The Lady Vikings took to the court on Wednesday against the Dooly County Lady Bobcats. Despite a hard-fought effort, Treutlen fell behind early and struggled to close the gap against a determined Dooly County offense. The Lady Bobcats pulled away to secure a 49-35 victory, ending the Lady Vikings' season. The Treutlen girls finished the year with a final record of 5-20.

Boys vs. Telfair Co.

The boys team, however, found success on Wednesday night in their matchup against the Telfair County Trojans. In a tightly contested battle that came down to the wire, the Vikings managed to edge out the Trojans with a final score of 54-48. The victory not only keeps the Vikings' season alive but also propels them deeper into the tournament bracket.

Looking ahead, the Vikings face a significant challenge this week as they travel to face their rivals, Wheeler County. The game is scheduled for this Wednesday with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m.
