Teen Shot On Saturday

The Vidalia Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured one teenager on Saturday afternoon, February 7.

Officers were dispatched to Lang Street at around 5 p.m. on Saturday

after the Department received a 911 call reporting a male lying in the street on Lang Street near the road’s intersection with McIntosh Street.

Upon arrival, officers found an 18 year-old male – later identified as continued from page

Elijah Moore of Vidalia – suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Toombs-Montgomery EMS treated the teen on the scene before he was rushed to Memorial Health Meadows Hospital, and later airlifted to another medical facility for further treatment because of the nature of his injuries. His condition has no been disclosed.

The case remains under investigation, as investigators have reported that the victim and individuals believed to have information related to the shooting have been uncooperative at this time.
