Volunteers braved the chilly temperatures ….
Volunteers braved the chilly temperatures Saturday and spread out in various locations across the city to clean up litter as part of the ongoing Keep It Clean Vidalia project.
The Keep It Clean campaign was organized by a group of concerned citizens in December whose goal is to rid the City of litter, trash and debris. Clean up crews include volunteers that donate their time and state probationers that target littered areas of the community and clean up unsightly debris. Citizen Howard Holman, chairman of the Keep It Clean project noted, “give me two hours on a Saturday to Make Vidalia the Cleanest City in Georgia!”
Citizens are urged to refrain from throwing trash and garbage out on our City streets and in neighborhoods in an effort to keep our city clean and beautiful. Individuals and groups that would like to volunteer their time for the clean up efforts can contact Howard Holman at 912293-1199.
