Ceremony

Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) Student and Teacher award recipients from area high schools in Montgomery and Toombs Counties will be honored with a formal ceremony at Montgomery County High School, located at 703 Dobbins Street in Mount Vernon, at 6 p.m. on Thursday, January 29.

Book Sale

The Friends of the Library will host their annual book sale at the Dr. Mark and Tonya Spivey Public Library, located at 610 Jackson Street, from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 31. Hard cover and paperback books will be available for purchase.

Show

Opening

The Altama Museum of Art and History, located at 611 Jackson Street, will officially open their new Black History Show on February 7.

The exhibit will celebrate art, music, poetry, and other creative outlets. For more information, call (912) 537-1911.
