Barons Wrestling Drops 2

The Brewton-Parker Christian University Barons men’s wrestling team took on Keiser University and #3 Southeastern University last week in a pair of matches. vs. Keiser

Brewton-Parker Christian University Barons men’s wrestling team faced off against the Keiser University Seahawks on January 15, 2026. The Barons fell behind early but battled back in the middle-weight matches, but were unable to stop the Seahawks' heavyweights, who sealed the match at 20-31.

The Barons saw several standout performances from Blake Walker and Arthur Reed, who, in back-to-back matches at 149 lbs and 157 lbs, claimed pinfall victories to cut the early Seahawk lead from 15-0 to 15-12 and keep the Barons in the match. The Barons dropped the 165 lbs but rallied in the following match, where Sean Houston earned a technical fall in the 174 lbs showdown, winning 19-1 to add five more points for the Barons. The Barons dropped the next two head-to-head matches but won the heavyweight matchup with a 4-1 decision. Ja’Quavian (Turk) Daniels put up three more points for the Barons in the final match of the night, beating his opponent, #21 Daguy Massilon.

The Barons battled hard against the Seahawks, but despite their best efforts, were unable to overcome and steal a victory on the road. The Barons will have another opportunity to wrestle on January 17, 2026, against the Southeastern University Fire.

vs. Southeastern

Brewton-Parker Christian University Barons men’s wrestling team faced off against the #3 Southeastern University Fire in a difficult matchup on January 16, 2026. The Barons did all they could but failed to stop the dominant Fire lineup, which claimed the match 33- 3.

The Barons were outmatched for most of the showdown, but one wrestler did score points. Timothy Mclean kicked off the night, winning the 125 lbs match with an 11-5 decision to claim the Barons' only points in the matchup.

The Barons will be back in action on January 23-24, 2026, when they participate in the Missouri Valley Invitational. The Barons will look to build some momentum in their next time on the mats as they move into the final stretch of the season and prepare for the postseason.
