Quotes for our Times:
'It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong.'
Thomas Sowell
Matt Vespa, Senior Editor at Townhall. com: Law Professor obliterates the Dems' narrative about Trump's Venezuelan raid.
It was an awesome raid. It exemplified the professionalism of our military, its lethality, and pinpoint accuracy. Quietly, it shreds everything Democrats have said about the Pentagon and how it's run. They’re mad because Trump and his team are better than they are. It was a successful raid, where no Americans were killed. Deep down, we all know the Democrats hoped the mission would have failed, with scores of our elite troops lying dead in the streets. Alas, that did not happen.
Law Professor Jonathan Turley wrote, 'My strong preferences for congressional authorization and consultation are immaterial. The question I am asked as a legal analyst is whether this operation would be viewed as lawful. The answer remains yes.'
Dave Marcus, columnist for Fox News Digital: Trump restores America as the world's sole superpower.
Now, Obama’s former advisors are whining about international law, which is a completely made-up thing, by the way. We know this because no American has ever voted for an international law, and taxation without representation is kind of America’s whole point.
Democrats in Congress are complaining that the United States had no right to take this action. But in real geopolitics, power is its own authority. Crass though it may sound, we took out Maduro because we could, and Russia and China would both do the same if they were also superpowers.
Kurt Schlichter, political commentator and author: Trump brutally owns Nicolás Maduro and the libs.
You’ve got to hand it to Donald Trump. This is a guy who doesn’t play footsie with happy talk illusions about universal brotherhood, hugging, and the idea that people who hate you are just friends you haven’t yet sufficiently groveled to. When you’re his enemy, he plays to win. He doesn’t drag it out endlessly, not quite losing until, finally, he does, and our people must flee the country while locals drop off the last C-17 out. When Donald Trump and his supporters talk about hating forever wars, you need to understand that the part of “forever wars” they hate is the “forever” part. They like kicking foreigner tail. They just don’t want to lose, and they don’t want to take forever doing it.
