Wreaths Across America to Honor Veterans on Saturday

The community will honor veterans for their service and sacrifice with the annual Wreaths Across America events in Vidalia and Mount Vernon on Saturday, December 13.
Wreaths Across America is a national campaign that began continued from page
over 30 years ago to ensure that veterans’ service is never forgotten – even after they have passed away. Every year, citizens across the nation come together on Wreaths Across America Day to remember the fallen, honor those who have served, and teach younger generations the value of freedom.
Groups in Vidalia and Mount Vernon will participate in these events, w`hich will feature a short ceremony and the official laying of wreaths. The Vidalia ceremony is led by Ty Ann Copeland, and will be held at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, located at 4969 Georgia Highway 15. The Mount Vernon ceremony is held by the local Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) chapter at the war memorial on the Montgomery County Courthouse Square, and will begin at 12 p.m. For more information, call (912) 583-2323.
