Bad Band

I broke it.
That is a sure statement because; #1 I am a man, and; #2 I was there when it happened.
The “it” is the band on my miracle watch, made of some kind of plastic that doesn’t last long enough to please me.
The “miracle watch” as my personal critics call it, can tell me more than I need to know but might want to know. Would be nice to know. It is there if I should need it.
The altitude feature might be useful, if I knew how to use it, but I was always in a situation in which I knew my height above the ground, could easily find out, or didn’t care. This part is for mountain climbers and I want nothing to do with that.
Air pressure is just another name of the same thing. You can display in feet or inches of Mercury. One reason it does not seem to be reliable is that air pressure is influenced by air temperature.
You are able to take off the watch and leave it on a table for a while to remove the body temperature influence.
My first look at this miracle watch was at a duty free shop somewhere else. The cost was higher than I would ever consider paying even with discounts.
I found the watch grossly marked down at a big box wholesale club place.
There is a compass feature to the watch, and I use it just because I can.
I’ve owned it about 20 years and have yet to replace batteries. On the face there is a small solar cell that uses sunlight to charge the battery.
During winter I leave the watch near a window where direct sunlight charges the battery. When I wear short sleeved shirts that is not necessary.
Then there is the main feature of displaying the correct time. That never has to be set. The watch monitors a radio signal that automatically broadcasts the correct time, and the watch receives the correct signal and sets the watch to the correct time. Easy.
Sometimes it is necessary to enter another time zone or fiddle with Daylight Saving Time. That is changed by pushing two buttons.
For the last few weeks I have been holding the wrist band together with a large rubber band. The look embarrasses the Kansas Woman, who said we probably could afford a new watch band, and it somehow reflects on her since the rubber band and watch band were different colors.
I’ve got a search going for an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) band for my Casio Pathfinder but not all Pathfinder model watches are the same.
The KW said that if I didn’t care what the watch band looked like with the ratty looking rubber band, I should be satisfied if the look is close but maybe not OEM.
The KW doesn’t understand.
