The Brewton-Parker Christian University Barons women's volleyball team was busy last week as they took on the Wesleyan Wolves, the Loyola University New Orleans Wolf Pack, and the Lady Crusaders of William Carey University. vs. Wesleyan

The Brewton-Parker Christian University Barons women's volleyball team clinched a decisive 3-0 victory against the Wesleyan Wolves on November 4, in Macon, Ga. The nonconference match saw the Barons dominating across all 3 sets against their opponents.

The opening set began with the Barons establishing a strong lead, taking it 25-13. Their momentum did not wane in the second set, which they won 25-15, mirroring the score in the final third set. This consistent performance secured a comprehensive win for Brewton-Parker.

Key players for Brewton- Parker included Adriana Dejesus, Amme Mobley, and Genesis Edwards, each contributing 5 kills. The defensive efforts were led by Ryann Prince, who recorded 3 blocks. Alana Garcia made notable defensive moves, racking up 12 digs throughout the match.

The Brewton-Parker Barons also showcased strong serving skills, accumulating a total of 17 aces, highlighting their strategic play. Tailor Lamontagne stood out with her all-around performance, achieving 5 aces, 18 assists, and contributing to the team's defensive efforts with 6 digs.

Head Coach Obed Quiles shared his thoughts on the team's performance after the game. 'I'm proud of how we have been performing these last few games. Excited to see the response from the team and look forward to how we can carry it into the rest of the season and the future.' vs. Loyola

On November 7, the Brewton-Parker Christian University women's volleyball team lost a tough conference game at Gillis Gymnasium, Mt. Vernon, GA, against the Loyola University New Orleans Wolf Pack. The game ended in straight sets for the Wolf Pack.

The game opened with the Wolf Pack taking a strong lead, ending the first set at 25-19. Despite the Barons' efforts, the pace didn't turn in their favor in the second set, which they lost 2514. The third set saw some resilience from the Barons, with notable plays and a closer score, but eventually, it went to the Wolf Pack as well, ending in a 25-21 victory.

Key players for the Barons included Adriana De Jesus, who led with 7 kills, and Ryann Prince, who not only secured 6 kills but also added a significant defensive strength with 6 blocks. Taylor Lamontagne was versatile throughout the match, contributing with 11 digs, 18 assists, and topping the aces for her team with 3. Other notable contributions came from Alana Garcia with a total of 6 digs and an ace, alongside Raphaela Felisberto, who managed two aces. Despite these contributions, the Barons struggled with errors and were unable to maintain their early leads against the Wolf Pack's consistent play. vs. William Carey

In a tough conference matchup on November 8, the Brewton-Parker Christian University Barons hosted William Carey University at Mount Vernon, GA. The Barons could not secure a victory, falling 0-3 to the Crusaders in the final match of the season.

The opening set saw the Barons putting up a considerable fight but ultimately fell short, 1825. Despite strong performances, they struggled to overcome the Crusaders' defense. The second set mirrored the frustrations of the first, with the Barons trailing close behind and ending with a score of 17-25. The final set saw the Barons struggle, scoring only 12 points against the Crusaders, resulting in a 0-3 loss to William Carey University.

Highlight performances for the Barons included Adriana De Jesus with eight kills, followed closely by Amme Mobley, who contributed 7 kills and led in blocks alongside Raphaela Felisberto with two each. On the defensive side, Claire Slocumb notched the highest digs for the team with 6, adding an ace as well. Taylor Lamontagne was a standout, recording 5 digs, two aces, and leading the team in assists with 16, showcasing her versatility across the court. Additional contributions came from Alana Garcia, also with 5 digs, and Ryann Prince, who tallied 3 assists.

The Barons' tough season is reflected in their current record of 321, with a conference tally of 0-16. Despite the challenges, they look towards the future, building in the off-season to prepare for the 2026 campaign.
