Free Car Seat Check on Saturday

Drivers and families will have the opportunity to ensure that their children’s car seats are properly and safely secured on Saturday, November 15, as a free Car Seat Check is held in the Toombs County Courthouse parking lot, located at 100 Courthouse Square in Lyons.

Certified Car Seat Technicians and Safe Kids Toombs County officials will be set up within the parking lot from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. to make sure that car seats are properly installed in vehicles. This event is a result of the collaboration of Safe Kids Toombs County, Toombs-Montgomery EMS, the Georgia Department of Public Health, and the Vidalia Fire Department.

The group reminds all citizens that children shorter than 4’9” are required to use a car seat.
