The Treutlen County High School Lady Vikings softball team played three games last week as they hosted Jefferson County on Monday, Wilcox County on Tuesday, and Putnam County on Thursday. The Lady Vikings won two of the three games, and it was their first loss of the season. They are now 8-1 on the year and are 4-1 in Region play. vs. Jefferson Co.

The week began on Monday with a dominant 13-1 victory over Jefferson County. The Vikings were the first to score, with a passed ball bringing in two runs in the first inning. Jefferson picked up a run in the top of the second inning, but 4 more from Treutlen in the bottom of the frame pushed the lead to 6-1 on a double by Taylor Gillis and RBI hits by Ella Roberson and Cloey Hutcheson.

The Vikings' offense exploded in the fourth inning, scoring 7 runs to put the game out of reach. Cloey Hutcheson hit a triple and scored a run, while Ruthie Blair singled and scored a run. Addyson Horne, Kenley Kight, and Ava Jackson each drew a walk and scored a run with the bases loaded. Desirae Bright drove in a run after being hit by a pitch.

Kenley Kight earned the win on the mound for the Vikings, surrendering zero hits and one run over four innings while striking out five. vs. Wilcox Co.

On Tuesday, Treutlen faced a tough opponent in Wilcox County and lost 7-3. Wilcox County got on the scoreboard in the first inning with a double. They then broke the game open with 6 runs on 6 hits in the third inning.

Treutlen did manage to pick up 2 runs in the fifth inning and another in the seventh, but it was not enough as they lost, 7- 3.

Despite the loss, Cloey Hutcheson and Ruthie Blair were tough outs, with each driving in a run for the Vikings. Ella Roberson was the starting pitcher, allowing 11 hits and 7 runs (3 earned) over 7 innings, striking out 4 and walking 1. vs. Putnam Co.

The Vikings finished the week strong with a 10-2 win over Putnam County on Thursday. Treutlen took the early lead on an inside-thepark home run in the first inning by Ruthie Blair that plated 2 runs.

Treutlen added 6 more runs in the second inning with RBI hits coming from Jayden Rogers, Cloey Hutcheson, and Maya Brinson. That put the Vikings on top 8-0. Treutlen added a run in the fourth inning, before Putnam finally got on the board with 2 runs in the top of the fifth inning.

The Vikings plated a final run in the sixth on the way to a 10-2 victory. Jayden Rogers earned the victory in the circle for Treutlen.

This week the Vikings host Dublin on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., and will be at Wheeler County on Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
