Toombs County Middle School Agricultural Education Teacher and Future Farmers of America (FFA) Advisor Elizabeth Galloway was recently awarded the Georgia Agricultural Education/FFA Area IV Middle School Big Owl Award.

The Big Owl Award is announced annually at the Georgia Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association (GVATA) Conference, which was held last month in Athens. The recognition is given to the area chapter advisor who has the best and most participation in FFA/Agricultural Education events throughout the year. Galloway had numerous successful events throughout the 2024-2025 school year and had several students compete well at FFA competitions, winning several area titles and one state title.

She is continuing to teach agricultural education this year in hopes to continue to inspire the next generation of agricultural professionals.
